報告人簡介:

Ruihan is a postdoctoral researcher in Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Reading. She is investigating the effects of fish oil-derived n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA) on the generation, compositions and functions of extracellular vesicles (EVs) both in the blood and derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). EVs are submicron membrane-bound vesicles released from almost all cells, which affect manyphysiological and pathological processesinvolved in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), as well as outperforming MSCs themselves in terms of their therapeutic functions. Ruihan is looking into whether EVs could be modified by n-3 PUFA for the prevention and treatment of CVDs, and the potential application of modified MSC-derived EVs in stem cell therapy. Her talk will focus on the results achieved so far and current progress of the projects.
