報告人簡介:

Ezgi is an Associate Lecturer in Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Reading, United Kingdom. She teaches Public Health and Nutritional Sciences modules to undergraduates. Her research interests include investigation of the nutritional influences on obesity and cardiovascular disease risk, including nutrient-gene interaction, and effect of diets on appetite.

報告人簡介:

Dr.Kumari M. Rathnayake obtained her B.Sc Special Degree in Nutrition with a first class honours from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, MPhil in Food and Nutrition from University of Peradeniya and PhD in Human Nutrition from Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences, University of Reading, UK. She has been awarded Commonwealth Scholarship on merit basis to pursue her PhD in UK. She started her academic career as a lecturer in the Department of Applied Nutrition, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and currently she is working as the Senior lecturer/Head of the Department of Applied Nutrition,Wayamba University of Sri Lanka with 18 years of experience as a university academic and a registered Nutritionist attached to a leading state university in Sri Lanka offering one and only undergraduate degree in Nutrition. She has strong publication record in the field of public health and clinical Nutrition with added experience in working with UN agencies and Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. Further, she had served the council of the Nutrition Society of Sri Lanka as a council member and a Joint Secretary.Main research interests are investigating the nutritional influences of increased cardiovascular disease risk and metabolic syndrome development, including nutrient-gene interactions and assessing cardiometabolic risk factors of different populations groups. Of particular interest is the impact of dietary and meal fat composition on vascular reactivity,insulin resistance and lipid metabolism in different population groups.
